It can be found growing in sparsely vegetated areas which are primarily grasslands and thornscrub which have tight loamy soils. It is a tiny plant that often goes unnoticed. Its stems are prostrate to ascending. The narrowly oblanceolate, opposite, toothless margined leaves are about 3/4 of an inch long and 3/16 of an inch wide. The margins are somewhat rolled under. The white, 4-lobed flowers appear solitarily in the leaf axils and are about 1/8 of an inch to 1/4 of an inch long. The 2-lobed fruit capsule is about 1/8 of an inch long and is longer than its pedicel. The pedicels are short and straight.
