"Purple Pillow" is a trade name for G. cinereum ‘Ravpil’ (U.S. Plant Patent PP12,829, discovered by John Ravenscroft in Cheshire, UK). According to the patent application, it's a sport of G. cinereum 'Laurence Flatman' with darker purple flowers.
In cool summer climates, flowering may continue through the summer and into fall. Where summers are warm, flowering may occur in spring only.
This does not get over about 6" tall.
According to Armitage, this is hardy in Z5-7 in eastern N. America.
Propagation is by rooting cuttings with permission from the patent owner.
