Flamingo yielded almost no peppers compared to the usual good Gypsy crop. The few I got were indeed larger than Gypsy and the walls were thicker, but the flavor was less complex and rich. I will try them again this year, as 2011 was one of the hottest, driest on record in N. Texas and Flamingo may have failed to set in the unrelenting heat: The plants did seem to have a good crop of immature peppers when I finally frosted out in November. I do like the thinker walls, but the flavor was definately inferior to Gypsy.
2012: Same results. Poor yield, bland flavor. BIG Gypsy crop.

This is a colorful elongated (4.5 x 3.25 inch) hybrid bell from Harris Moran. Mature from very light creamy yellow to pink-orange to red. (65 day)
