The nomenclature is incorrect on this plant. It doesn't grow like Clematic heracleifolia and blooms at another season. It is supposed to be quite fragrant but I haven't detected it yet so I've cut some stems and will observe them indoors and check with other noses. The plant would benefit from staking so next year I will grow it with a cage. My plant is 3 year's old and is about 4 feet wide and doing quite well with little to no care. In the States this Clematis is sold as Clematis heracleifolia 'New Love' or as Clematis 'New Love'.
