The elderberry bush was growing wild in a hedgerow between two with the dark red fruit which made it stand out as the fruit were of a yellow colour. As I am a home wine maker and have used the red fruit before I decided that I would would make wine from the yellow fruit. However, I am a little concerned that the yellow fruit may not be suitable or even slightly poisonous. Can anyone tell me whether the fruit is OK for wine making or not?
Although I have done an extensive search of the Web I cannot find even one photograph of the yellow fruit to compare. Does one exist?
Any help much appreciated.

This attractive form of the Common Elder has yellow fruit rather than the more usual purple. The birds tend to leave the fruit.
