Although a pretty tree, zones 5 & 6 gardeners are much safer choosing selections from the Patki group. I read a blog entry by a zone 5 gardener from Indiana who tried several Cedrus very near each other. In last years very hard winter 'Aurea' died outright, 'Kashmir' experienced significant winter burn, but survived, while 'Karl Fuchs' (one of the Patki selections) thrived completely unscathed. So, while it may survive in 5, it will suffer damage, making 'Karl Fuchs' the better choice.
