They look healthy. They are supposed to get up to about five feet tall, the blooms are supposed to attract buteryflies and then they are to die off to ground during the winter and re-emerge in the spring.
At least that's what I've read. It is an endangered species and it looked kind of cool, so I thought I would do my part to try to preserve it.
