I just noticed however, that each plant has very subtle differences in the flowers, but they are all very similar. In the spring, sometimes they get too wet and I have to trim away yellowed foliage but that hasn't stopped them from growing and spreading to the point where I need to divide them already.
I planted them in a sunny, usually dry location with a large compost component to the soil.
I'm in zone 2! Hurray for pretty plants that thrive here!

I trimmed it back last fall before transplanting it, and I thought I'd lost it. It's slowly coming back. At this rate, it'll be years before I see it bloom. Good thing I have a bare spot on a sunny slope for it.
