I finally got the guts to move the knee-high larch out of a full sun location between two granite sheets to an area with similar exposure and more soil. I watered every other day following the transplant and the larch flourished despite a six week drought. When rain and cold (low of 45°F) returned the plant yellowed. I may dig around it and add more stones to improve drainage.
