No water in winter, watering once a week in summer. It carries small red flowers every year in May and June.The leaves are rough and dark green from late spring to December. It is well against a wall exposed to the south, full sun. Pachypodium baronii did not survive at the same rate.

I have had no luck with this plant, but it is pretty tropical (rots easily). Never gotten one to flower. No spines on this species.
