It flowers much earlier in the spring, which makes it a more valuable garden plant (at least in my way of thinking), and it's not in the least invasive. If you like star-of-Bethlehem, but its invasiveness gives you pause, this is a great substitute. It's inexpensive and easily obtained from sellers of fall bulbs.
