The flowers are bright yellow or golden yellow. They attract pollinating insects.
Although Coastalplain Honeycombhead may be found in moist sites, it mainly prefers drier, sandy, well-drained sites.
It is superb for a wildlife garden and provides very nice color with little water. It grows in full sun to partial or light shade.
The stems are thin and upright, but may be leaning off to one side. The leaves are also very thin.
