When we thoug...Read Moreht it was big enough that rabbits would leave it alone, we took down its fence, and it was soon seriously cut down by deer. Also, some insect pest eats holes in the leaves.
Though the description says "very fragrant," and perhaps it is when a big bush, currently I can discern no scent.
Buds are red and open into large peach-colored blooms, which change into a lovely soft pink.

The above comments were from 2013, and I had given this plant a neutral rating. Today I changed the rating to positive because the bush is doing well and is covered with large beautiful roses, which have a faint spicy fragrance. I would recommend it for inclusion in a grouping of plants, and it should be in an area where deer can't reach it.
