The leaves are usually small, thin, and pointed.

The small to medium flowers are bright yellow to yellow-orange.

Due to habitat destruction, this plant is sadly listed as endangered by the state of Florida.

The flowers may attract some pollinating insects.

It is also known as Yellow-Hibiscus.
