It can form large colonies with tens of living pseudobulbs, bearing 2 pairs of 30-50cm long leaves. In exchange, it blooms abundantly, showing, per inflorescence (which can be various at the same time in a large plant). several medium sized, brown flowers with a flat and round white lip.

It needs moderate to high temperatures, constant moisture, and filtered sun light. The medium can be prefferably fiber, and the pot must have room for the massive root system.

It isn´t as pretty as its more popular cousin, M. spectabilis. But it wins by far on the bloom volume and growth vigor. Plus, the uncommon brown and white flowers can be cut and used in exotic arranges.
