I have a very hard time telling this species from others with similar crownshaft and trunk, like Clinostigma ponapense. In the wild, this palm develops long, attractive stilt roots, but I haven't seen this occur in cultivation. This one has some hardiness and some have been able to grow it in southern California in the perfect microclimates.
