This is the only variety I have grown for several years, because I make a lot of sauce, and can a lot. The solids are so high that the gar is full to the top with dark red tomato instead of water on top. The concentrated set is great for canning, but there is enough early and late ripe fruit, to keep fresh tomatoes on the table all season. Definitely my favorite, although I will grow some round ones to sell next season, but the Marianna will be on my table. The size is large for a Roma type at 4.5 Oz. They are on sturdy vines, but use a heavy cage, because they set so many fruit that they.break down to the ground.
