Mine was planted 14 years ago to grow ov...Read Moreer a dying pear tree. 2 years later I headed overseas. I returned 12 years later. In that time my tenants had done nothing to Rote Max Graf - no watering, no sprays, no pruning. It was at the top of the pear tree, 15 feet up and in full flower despite the tree having fully recovered. In New Zealand's south we have winter frosts of -10 celcius and summers can reach 36. I haven't sprayed this rose either and I have cut it back to about 4 feet to give the pear tree a chance. The rose, quite disease free has simply squared it's shoulders and got on with it.
