It is one of the best Madagascan Palms for Southern California, but still pretty rare in cultivation. This is also one of the few tropical palms that seems to grow better in clay soils than sandy ones. It is a suckering palm and develops a lot of nice subtle colors in the trunks- greens, lavendars and some pinks. Leaves are feather, arching and fine leaflets. Great specimen palm for So Cal.
