Now, after blooming the plant is slow to show signs of dying. What is happening is pups are starting to appear between the leaves at the base of the inflorescence. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have observed this on other agaves. Does anyone know what this phenomenon is called?

Light green colored Agave mod sized with sparse crown- can't find much information on it.
