My oldest are now about 18 months old, and still have green strap leaves. I'm actually pretty surprised how quickly they've grown, producing about 7 or 8 leaves in this time and filling a 1 gallon container with roots.

It's most striking feature are it's nearly white leaves making it really stand out in the landscape. There are small teeth along the petioles. It is a very slow growing palm and specimens worth showing are often decades old or older. As a seedling, it is nothing to look at as the leaves are still greenish grey for many years before developing the silvery coloration. It is extremely drought and wind hardy.
So far no plants in cultivation have produced any seed, so if seed it to be had, it's from the native plants in Mexico... another reason this plant is so rare in cultivation
