Many birds nest in Mistletoe and a species of butterfly will lay eggs only on this plant. Birds also eat the berries and spread this plant from tree to tree. I would personally cut this out of any of my trees if I found it growing and would wear gloves when handling due to it’s toxicity.

Here in Sedona, Arizona, mistletoe grows wild in the chaparral, in the branches of the scrub oak.
