I favor yellow or orange fleshed melons and this is one of the more flavofull ones. The thin rind does not tolerate handling, but never had any problem with splitting in the patch. This melon ripens from the center and drys out like a pumpkin. I have kept beautifully appearing melons until January. Upon cutting the center flesh had dried to the point that seeds were loose. Flesh along the rind was sort of dry but still edible.
