He dropped the Nancy Halls but stuck with Porto Rico until his death. Nancy Hall grew well in piedmont Virginia. It has a nice shape and is yellow skinned and yellow fleshed. It is somewhat moist, but flavor is too reminiscent of a pumpkin to suit me.
This is the sweetpotato of my youth. I find it the most delicious of all sweetpotatoes that I have grown.
