I bought it on sight at a daylily nursery because it was the tallest one they had. It flowers heavily at later midseason and is open most of the day at my location Zone 5b with partial shade at noon. It is blooming with 100+ heat in a severe drought, and has survived 20 below zero winters, and excessive rain in cold summers. It is dependable!. Because I love tall daylilies, I'm trying to cross it with other tall day-lillies to see what results.

I call this on...Read Moree a weekday flower: it's NOC and opens at 4 pm, but it isn't EXT so the bloom is spent by noon. If you have a 9-5 job, you'll always see it during its good looking stage (except on weekends). I suspect it is better used as a hybridizing plant than a garden plant.
