The flowers have red and quite long stamens. The petals are thick, white to lavender, and turn red when the flower is fertilized. What makes it different from everything is that these petals are edible. Really! They are sweet-tasting like guava (every Myrtaceae seems to resemble that taste), and birds go to the plant after these petals, fertilizing the flower in the process. It is indeed a delightful surprise.
This plant needs full sun, high temperatures, regular watering, and white sand soil.
