My lily has spent a summer in a pot, then I planted in my front yard. It blooms every summer about this time. But this year because of all the rain it has at least a dozen blooms on it and has spread out several feet. It needs to be divided and I plan to plant it in our backyard that has more moisture than the front yard. But it will grow in a variety of conditions and is fine in a garden.

Cahaba Lily is also known as Shoals Spiderlily and I have seen it in growing in only one place outside its natural habitat and that was in a water fall rock garden. In comparison, H. caroliniana will grow in a variety of places as long as it is very wet.
