In the wild (Australia) this is a somewhat common plant in the local area it's found in, but here in the US it is a very rare and expensive cycad. It is nearly impossible to get plants out of Australia, and seed is hard to come by on this species. Still, some growers are able to attain the seed and I have a seedling from one of them in a pot in my yard. There are two basic varieties of this species- ones with green leafes and ones with a blue-green cast. The latter are the more sought after, though both are striking plants, especially as potte specimens. The leaves of this cycad are fine, soft and have divided leaflets, giving the leaves a sort of 'hairy', plumose pine-needle-like quality.
