All I ever do is repot yearly, raising it up more and more to expose the cool, twisted roots, and trim off the dead 'arms'. The color of this plant is much more marked if grown in full sun. Noticed that in the cactus/succulents shows there are always a lot of these, so their ease of culture is no secret.

Like all Euphorbia HANDLE WITH CARE, the latex/sap is dangerous and can cause skin rash, itching and general discomfort.
