The grower convinced me to buy it because it was a prolific bloomer and exremely insect resistant but I find it's their favorite meal. Mine grows slowly and for each of the four years I've had it doesn't bloom until late August or early September when it experiences a rapid growth and exactly three long stems with one bloom each appears. Yep, three stems and three blooms, never any more or any less. I call them "Labor Day Roses". I plan to move it to a more sunny locations and find a way to protect it from winter damage.

It blooms all spring and summer. I water it generously every 3 days, as we are in a drought here in SW Oklahoma. We also have red clay soil. I planted the rootball in a twice the size hole, with a bag of potting soil around it. I've feed it rose food with herbicide and insecticide included, every spring.

I'm hoping this year will be better. I have it in a planter box. In the summer it gets plenty of sun, at least 8 hours, but not starting until about 9 - 10 am. If anyone has experience with what might make this rose happier, I'd love to hear it.

Moderately priced (usually $15 – $25 depending on form), they can be found in either bare root, container bush or 36" tree form at only nurseries that carry them.
