This is a common Philodendrum in tropical forests in Brazil. It looks like an orchid at first sight because of the shiny leaves, inflated petiole (looks like a pseudobulb) and epiphitic habit, but it´s just another species of philodendrum. It likes moist organic soils, but can be planted on trees in humid areas, as long as you keep it away from the direct sun light and keep it warm all the year.
