I have thrown seeds under an oak tree where nothing grows - and they are popping up by the dozen this year. The blooms are always a welcome surprise - 20 out now 5/15 with dozens more in bud. They do spread quickly and can be a maintenance problem in the wrong location.

Sometime will bloom the next year after sowing. One detail to note, even after emasculation and out crossing with various other species, the seedling tend to look just the mother strain. Prolific reliable bloomer.
