It is covered with one and a half inch, bright red-purple flowers with clear yellow centres for most of the summer.
Here in Cornwall, U.K., zone 9b, there are many less hardy osteospermums I could grow, but I really like this tough little gem.
Although it tolerates 'ordinary' soil, it looks best on a raised bed or rock-garden and associates well with marigolds and gazanias and Campanula portenschlagiana.
It occasionaly produces viable seed which is well worth sowing, as it often produces slightly different, but still attractive plants.
