The ...Read Moreleaves are still green outside here in Seattle (along a south wall) at 39 degrees. I've taken to surrounding the planting with low wire-fencing, so the stalks don't lean over when starting to flower or in wind, and that works well. I still think I prefer A. 'Sweet Laura' to this one, since it has a lovelier yellow + orange coloring, is taller, and stays erect without fencing. Both do well in part shade.

The color is...Read More brilliant and dazzling in part shade where the blooms hold up longer in a sun-drenched climate like ours.
I recommend putting in some type of root barrier for these -- which can be as simple as a 15-gallon can with its bottom cut out (works well for us for several years).
