My 15 year old clump of `Great Expectations' has yielded variegated seed pods on a few select plants in the clump. Normally the above cross would not yield anything of value. There isn't any way of telling beforehand which pods will be variegated. On some varieties; splashed breeders (pod parents) will show a stripe running up the scape from the crown to individual flowers; which then tells you what flowers to cross to get variegated plants.
