It is the first to sprout for me in Spring (both in its bag and in the tub). Pads come up nice red (which is nice to see in in pre-Spring when there is nothing growing) then turn deep green.. It is a full-size hardy that is COMPACT in leaf spread so I can use it in a tub jsut fine. Flowers are a little smaller than the native white waterlillies. Needs full sun, preferably all day, to bloom well (like most white).
