Krantz was selected simultaneously in seedling populations by both the Texas and Minnesota breeding programs from a cross between MN366.65-3 and C6743-5. Tubers are oblong to slightly blocky, russet-skinned, with shallow eyes, white flesh and short dormancy. Tuber bulking occurs early."
