I plant the first corn about June 1, again 2 weeks later, and a 3rd planting about July 1. Even the latest one matures most years, quite a feat where nights are getting into the middle 30's for the last 2-3 weeks or so before we get a killing frost. Last year I planted my earliest corn in toilet tissue tubes standing on end in a tray in the greenhouse and when the corn was up about 1 inch planted tube and all in the ground. I'll do that again.

Stalks are small (about the same size as Golden Bantam) with small well filled ears. It holds it quality on the stalk longer than most corns of its vintage. For the first good corn on the table or to the market it is hard to beat. Polar Vee is earlier but taste is way inferior. (63 day)
