A variant of h. aspera subsp. aspera, growing into a bush of 5' by 5'. The leaves are large, up to about 6 -10 inches by 2", hairy like all H. aspera. Broad inflorescences of white fertile and sterile flowers 6" to 8" wide.
Cultivar named after Peter Chappell, a well-known English plantsman and nurseryman.
