A medium-sized shrub up to 10 feet, which is a seedling of 'Pink Diamond'. The flowerheads appear early in the season, white at first rapidly changing to pink, later turning to almost claret-red when mature. The flowering period is long, sometimes 10 weeks. This cultivar is very rare outside of the U.S. Trademarked name is ANGEL(S) BLUSH.
Dirr writes that he has grown 'Ruby' for several years in his garden and that he feels it is a weak shrub with rather insignificant flowers that has yet to live up to the description above.
