This is an older well-known Japanese cultivar. Panicles are generally to 10" to 12" long but have been know to grow up to 18" with a 6" diameter base, with a mixture of sterile and fertile white flowers. Each showy floret is composed of 4 to 5, 5/8" to 3/4" long, elliptic to rounded, overlapping sepals. White sepals age to pink. Later flowering, often late July to early August. Grows to 15 feet high.
