Although it does bloom occasionally, most years the spring frost get the blooms before they have a chance to develop. It has only bloomed perhaps twice following mild winters and warm springs here in zone 5b but occasionally surprises me.
'Taube' AKA as 'Teller Pink', and 'Dove' generally blooms a rich pink to darkest royal blue, ours blooms more of a violet pink when it does bloom. The flowers are large and flattened with nearly round sepals. Bloom time is late July through August. It is stout growing and the foliage is a lovely dark green.
