I recently purchased a Hydrangea Macrophyll from a local large nursery. Unfortunately the only name on the label was Hydrangea Macrophyll...Read More. I have no idea as to exactly which Hydrangea I now have other than it is unusual, has scalloped florets and changes color from pink to blue to burgundy all on one flower. The scalloped edge has a very fine dark blue lining. If possible I would really like to upload a photo so that you can assist with identifying the pant.

There is a conflict between these two books as to the size of this plant. Prof. Dirr has it at 4' to 6' tall but the Van Gelderen's have said that this is a dwarf shrub to 3'. Both agree that the the flowerheads are crimson pink to purplish. Sepals are pointed, heart shaped. Flowering time is from the end of June to July. Very free flowering. Bred by E. Draps, Belgium in 1946. No cold hardiness zone noted.
If someone has this hydrangea, please weigh in on actual size.
