In its pink or cherry red form, it is a very nice cultivar. In acid soil, it becomes mauve, or brick red. Synonyms: 'Glory of Aalsmeer' (bred by D. Baardse, Netherlands, in 1930), 'Aalsmeer's Glory'. Very similar to 'Hobergine', which was introduced by Hofstede. Introduced by F. Matthes, Germany, in 1929 and probably renamed by Baardse in 1930."
