I've grow...Read Moren in at the 20th parallel, in Mexico, where it behaved as a normal, somewhat restrained pole bean. In Oklahoma it never flowers until September 1 and it's a race to make seed before frost. This bean is day length sensitive.
At my latitude (almost 36 degrees N) this bean produced immense vines. I got one to climb over 18' before snapping the pole. Early on, as they are starting to climb, they send out branches which reach as far as 3' laterally, in search of additional support. So this bean can "travel."
Pods are quite good as green beans. Some show slight purple mottling as they mature.
The dry seed is large, kidney shaped and a beautiful pink with black mottling. It makes a makes a good dried bean. Seed production is good.
