Most plants are about 18" but a fair number are 30". Prolific producer, but even 4" pods are stringy. Your description says "snap", but I think I'll go for dry because of texture. They withstood a hot first half of summer, with regular watering, but took off in subsequent cooler weather. Leaves are actually very dark blue green, but I wouldn't say black. Interesting experiment but we love snap beans!
