Texas A&M recomm...Read Moreends Lipan for its mildew resistance and exfoliating bark, and their mature height of around 15' made them perfect for our back yard as an extended privacy screen with our 6' wood fence. I planted in sets of 3 to create instant multiple-trunk plantings. By 2014, the plants topped the fence line and were loaded with pink flowers. The bark is beginning to exfoliate, and they've never had any mildew, even though another Crapemyrtle variety and a climbing rose had such mildew problems that I pulled them.
