I've had them for at least 6 years now, growing in a mostly sunny area. They both have a beautiful, symmetrical shape, and look very nice on either side of a 'Melting Fire' Huchera, with larger, darker hostas in the background. The "tattoo" markings are quite vivid.
I have had absolutely no trouble growing this hosta, and have done nothing special to keep it alive, even here in far Northern WI. I knew nothing about it when I first planted it, but apparently some people have trouble growing this one...then again, I also have a 'Great Expectations' hosta that is growing wonderfully nearby, so maybe I just have the perfect spot for somewhat difficult hostas, but I would say that whatever trouble 'Tattoo' may be to grow, it's definitely worth it!!!

This should be only for the die hard collector who can afford the garden space. There are so many other hostas from which to choose that will give the gardener more bang for their buck.

I received one last spring which grew well during the spring and summer, tripling in size. Well, it's the only Hosta that I have ever lost (I have over 100 varieties), as it did not come back this year! Reports indicate that this may be a plant that does not come out of TC well, so some specimens will thrive while others will not. I MIGHT try it again, but only if I get one that is obviously more than 2 years old.
