It is wonderful, and multiplies like a weed. my son and me dug some of this up from an elderly women who must have had about 300 bulbs of it at the foot of her property and she let me photgraph it, it was a beautiful site to behold! it may be a shorter variety, but its glowing, luminesent color, is like no other iris! It is also a rapid multiplier under ideal growing conditions. One of the more drought tolerant fragrant irises, it can survive brief periods of drought, but growth rate and bloom numbers do suffer in such circumstances.
