'Palace Purple.' Virtually all of the newer purple-leaved hybrids are descended from 'Montrose Ruby.' Some seed grown plants have been distributed under this name and are inferior to the original type. Real 'Montrose Ruby' is a glowing red-purple and makes a vigorous, enduring plant for dry shade.
